General Site Rules
Character Rules
Posting Rules
- Please respect the staff, as we have worked hard to provide this site for everyone. Also respect your fellow staff members as they are working to make this place a fun community to roleplay in.
- Don’t plagiarize or steal from other sites. If you must use something from another site, get explicit permission from the creator. For profiles, the only part that will be allowed to be copied is the history for the canon characters, if you can find a decent sized one that is.
- Angel Beats is a clean series. Therefore, this forum is rated from PG to PG-13. Please keep this in mind when writing as it means no overly graphic violence, sex, etc. in threads, OC, character histories, or even in PMs. Use will lead to deletion.
- My site, my rules, and I have the right to change them as needed. Don’t worry, I’ll let you know if changes occur, and massive changes to the rules will usually be placed up for discussion.
Character Rules
- No Mary Sues and/or Gary Stus. They are usually considered annoying, and for many people perfection is boring and uninteresting. Good characters tend to have flaws of some sort, especially in the Angel Beats series. In fact, the majority of the motives of the series deals with people overcoming their own regrets.
- Follow the character template that is presented in the Character Application board. You may add additional sections to it or fancy it up anyway you want. Please make sure you keep the basic information.
- Use anime/animated characters for the face claim. While I know there are many people who prefer real-life/celebrity face claims, I myself am not a big fan of them. Furthermore, I would like to keep a general anime theme for the site and have a semi-consistent look for the place.
I am lenient on what I define as "anime/animated" though. If you are fully capable of drawing your own character, you are welcome to do so. If the character is from what most people would define as a cartoon, that's fine as well. Also, the claim does not have to be from any established series. They can be some random drawing, though if that is the case it would be much appreciated by me (and most likely the artist) if you credited them. - One account per character. So every time you make a character, you have to make another account. Keep the account name the same as the character name, and you are good. It doesn't really matter what the order of the name is, though consistency is appreciated.
- People who are playing canons MUST BE ACTIVE. If you have to leave for one reason or another, tell us ahead of time. If you get grounded or if other circumstances force you away from the computer, try and find some way to contact us such as through a friend of some sort. If you disappear for a month without telling us, you’re account will be deleted and the character will be put back up for grabs. These rules will also apply to original characters.
- If you have to make a modification to your character's profile after approval that isn't related to simply adding in roleplay occurrences to the history, then notify the staff for a quick review of the changes.
Posting Rules
- When it comes to posts, we consider our site to be a moderate to advanced roleplay forum. While we have no official word count minimum, it is generally expected the average post will have several paragraphs and dialogue, usually around 500 words or so. Applications will be looked at for both areas where there could be more explanation of detail, potential sources of character development, and general use of proper grammar and spelling.
At the same time however, we are generally relaxed when it comes to the pressure of posting. We do understand that real life can be a hassle and so while your fellow roleplayers are allowed to remind you in a friendly manner if it's your post, pressuring someone to post is discouraged. If English is not your first language or you have a disability we are also understanding and will accommodate you the best we can. - Adding graphics, or just generally deciding to spruce up your posts, is fine. As long as they do not get in the way of the actual roleplaying you are allowed to do so. Avoid stretching the page , using hard to read colors, or using Size 0 font however.
- Speaking of graphics, signatures are limited to a width of 600 and a height of 200. You can go over a few pixels if needed, but try and prevent the stretching of the pages and such.
- You are allowed to have your character's in multiple threads at the same time. Make sure you are able to keep up with them all and are active, otherwise we may have to limit the amount people can do.
